End of season recap:

This season was a learning year for most of the players. The kids came in with a lot to learn because most of them had not played organized basketball prior to this season.  We focused on the fundamentals, shooting form, defense stance/positioning, offensive concepts and mental toughness. By the end of the season the boys had a better understanding of how the game could be played and they combined brains with aggressiveness on defense.

The 6th grade boys travelled to Three Rivers to face the Paw Paw Redskins and the Three Rivers Wildcats for the final time this season.  These two teams have been dominant this season and continued to be so. Paw Paw won the first game 38 to12 with Gavin Pedue and Lucas Bir each putting four points to the total followed byJulian Lambright and Gavin Lewis each adding a bucket.

The second game continues to test Sturgis's stamina and ability as they took on a rested and eager Wildcat squad.  Defensive effort was a struggle as foul calls hampered aggressive play and the Wildcats took advantage on the offensive board.
The Wildcats won by a score of 40 to 4 with Gavin Pedue and Julien Lambright each scoring 2 points
